How is it done?
Consultation: It is important to have a thorough consultation before starting the treatment. The dermatologist will ascertain the severity and the number of sessions to be done accordingly. A medical history will be discussed to allow the right combination of treatments.
Cleaning: This is an important step, as the skin is already broken it has to be cleared to not to damage any further and to prevent any infection from the product or makeup residues. The cleaning is done with specialized serums and medical-grade cleansers.
Numbing: Soon after the cleaning is done, a numbing cream or gel will be applied to the target area just to avoid any possible pain or discomfort during the treatment. Plastic seal wrap is also used to lock in for 15-20 minutes prior, to numbing and maximize the effects.
Skin Needling: Here comes the role of Derma Pen or Derma Roller. Once the skin is numb, doctors at Agelock Skin Clinic will start applying gel or cream to bring out the maximum results. The doctors will keep repeating the procedure of rolling the needles which could cause a little sensation which is very normal. Depending on the size of the area to be covered, the needling may last up to 30 minutes.
Cleaning: After the needling, cleaning is a must action which helps in removing dead skin tissues and slight blood residues, if any.
Mask/Serum: Lastly, the dermatologist will apply a specialized mask that helps soothe the entire face, after SPF can also be applied to be protected from harmful sun radiation for at least initial 24 hours.
